The State Key Laboratory of Estuarine and Coastal Research (SKLEC), East China Normal University is the leading Chinese Research Institute on matters concerning the Land-Sea interface. SKLEC provides world-class interdisciplinary research on estuarine, coastal and marine systems through the application of theoretical and applied approaches to solving the challenges arising from natural and anthropogenic pressures at the land-ocean interface. SKLEC provides solutions and develops opportunities from the challenges encountered through the very diverse and large scale coastal developments at the local, national and global levels. Main research themes: SKLEC focuses mainly on the following fields: (1) Transportation of substances from land to ocean; (2) Estuarine and coastal morphodynamics and sedimentary dynamics; (4) Hydrodynamics and coastal engineering; (3) Coastal and marine biogeochemical processes; (5) Impacts of global climate change and human activities on coastal and marine ecosystems. | Responsibilities and description of the position £º |
(1) As the leading organization for the Mega-Delta Programme endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade, we invite talented young scientists from different countries to join the team on river delta research, with special focus on Sediment and morphodynamics; Coastal hazards; Coastal Engineering; Wetland restoration; Carbon sequestration; Sustainable development. (2) This program belongs to Talented Young Scientist Program (TYSP), an international mobility scheme funded by the Chinese government aimed at cultivating future leading scientists together with other countries. In this program, the competent authority is Department of International Cooperation, MOST, China. SKLEC acts as the host institute, offering all working assistance. The financial support for this program is 12,500 RMB/month (pretax). (3) Application occurs all year round, while the application documents are evaluated on January, April, July and October. |
| Requirements for applicants£º |
(1) Physical and mental health, strong sense of responsibility, and good communication skills with team members; (2) A doctoral degree and work experiences in the related field. (3) Good English language communication skills and writing ability. (4) Under 45 years old (including 45 years old) (5) Working in China full-time. |
